45 PKR members quit party to join BN
PASIR SALAK, April 8 (Bernama) -- Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR)'s Pasir Salak divison's Youth leader together with 44 party members quit the party today.
Pasir Salak Barisan Nasional (BN) election machinery chairman and Pasir Salak MP, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said they had submitted their membership forms to him.
"Following this wave, I believe more members will quit the opposition party and join the BN. This is a big blow to the opposition.
"This shows the people's support for the opposition is fast deteriorating and is expected to give a big victory for the BN in Pasir Salak," he told reporters after launching the BN operations room in Kampung Telok here today.
About 300 opposition members in the parliamentary constituency of Pasir Salak are expected to quit the party in the near future.
It is understood that their reason for leaving the party was due to dissatisfaction with the party leadership.
