BN manifesto realistic to be implemented - BN Leaders

KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 (Bernama) -- The Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders expressed confidence that all the pledges contained in the manifesto launched by its chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak last night, are realistic as they are based on the government's current capabilities.
Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said the BN's pledges were planned through detailed researches involving all parties including the ministries and took consideration of all matters including state requirements and the government's potential.
"The research findings were then submitted to Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan (BN Strategic Communications director) for fine-tuning," he told reporters after officiating a carnival jointly organised by the Sidma College Sarawak and Rukun Tetangga Kampung Sejingkat Hilir here today.
In sharing a similar view, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan who is also state UMNO chairman added that the pledges in the manifesto were practical and would not harm the country's economy if they were to be implemented.
"I studied economics. How income is derived is one matter and how wealth is distributed is another important issue," he said in his speech at a get-together with Bandar Baru Sendayan residents here today.
Meanwhile, Labuan UMNO division chief Datuk Rozman Isli, who was thrilled that the construction of Labuan bridge was listed in the manifesto, believed that the pledges made were bold but deliverable based on the party's proven track record.
"It is a comprehensive, inclusive and progressive manifesto that unleashes many good things for Malaysians and the country as a whole, and we want voters to look at every single pledge listed for the good of our future," he told Bernama.
In Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob said various pledges in the manifesto were to improve the nation's economy and the well-being of the people, while focusing on every state, making it a detailed manifesto.
The announcement on the construction of the East Coast Highway 3 (LPT3) linking Tepoh in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu directly to Kelantan, was also viewed as a plus especially for those in Terengganu and Kelantan.
Jabi state assemblyman Iskandar Jaafar said the construction of the highway would certainly boost Terengganu's economic growth, as 75 per cent of the routes were in the state, namely, in Kuala Nerus, Setiu and Besut.
Meanwhile Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said the announcement on the construction of the Kuala Linggi-Masjid Tanah-Klebang-Telok Mas highway in the state was great news for the people of the state.
"The manifesto took consideration of people from all walks of life regardless of age and is seen to be balanced in all respects," he said at a ceremony to present one-off incentive of RM300 to People's Volunteer Corps (Rela) members.
