SHAH ALAM, April 8 (Bernama) -- Selangor Pakatan Harapan expects multi-cornered fights in several seats in the state in the 14th General Election, says its chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
The Selangor Menteri Besar said the opposition pact has to work hard in winning the seats given that several parties namely Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) and Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) have shown keen interest in contesting in some of the urban seats.
"We are expecting even five-cornered fights in Selangor. We are quiet familiar with this scenario (multi-cornered fights) as we face a 15-cornered fight for the Bukit Selambau by-election in 2009," he told reporters after attending the launching of PKR's election machinery by PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail here today.
Prior to the latest review of electoral boundaries, PSM planned to contest in two parliament seats, Subang and Hulu Langat - and four state seats namely Port Klang, Semenyih, Kota Damansara and Sri Muda but now that the review has been gazetted, the party said that it would contest five parliamentary and 15 state seats.
