Penang: CM seeks dissolution consent from the state's Tuan Yang Terutama 
GEORGE TOWN, April 9 (Bernama) -- Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng arrived at the Yang Dipertua Negeri's official residence around 8.30 am today.
His audience with Head of State Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas at Seri Mutiara here today is believed to be related to consent for dissolution of the State Legislative Assembly.
Accompanying him was Penang State Secretary Datuk Seri Farizan Darus.
Lim is expected to hold a press conference at his office at Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak (Komtar) later at 1.45 am.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Friday while announcing the dissolution of Dewan Rakyat effective Saturday (April 7) also urged state governments except Sarawak to follow suit, for the 14th general election (GE14) to be conducted simultaneously nationwide.
The current Penang state government's term ends on June 28.
Penang had been under Pakatan Rakyat since 2008. In GE13, DAP won 19 of the 40 state seats while PKR, 10, PAS, one, and Barisan Nasional, 10. As for parliamentary seats, DAP has seven while PKR, three, and BN, three.
