Ensure BN victory in Tenom for continuity of development - DPM

TENOM, April 9 April (Bernama) -- To ensure the continuity of development in the parliamentary constituency of Tenom, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi wants its people to ensure a Barisan Nasional (BN) victory in the 14th General Election (GE14).

He said that he would ask the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) to streamline the implementation of the project after the general election and also build a sports complex in Tenom.
"Therefore, have to ensure BN wins the parliamentary seat (Tenom) and the state seats under it in the general election.
"No one should try to protest and spoil the votes because when I look at the 12th general election results, there were 934 spoiled votes in the Tenom constituency and that number increased to 1,258 in the 13th general election," he said when officiating the state-level Kalimaran Festival at Padang Pekan Tenom, here, today, which was attended by about 10,000 people.

"If this trend continues, I think it will benefit the people here and I hope the people in Tenom continue to support BN because BN's achievement has been proven under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak," he said.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Zahid, who is also Home Minister, called for the people to ensure a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere during the GE14 campaign.
"We should work towards an incident-free campaign during GE14 and ensure that hotspots are free of any commotions. Let us together help the police and other enforcement agencies to ensure peace in the country," he said.
