Former teacher to stand for PH in Pelangai State Seat in Pahang

TEMERLOH, April 9 (Bernama) -- Pakatan Harapan (PH) has named former teacher Norhaizan Abu Hassan as its candidate for the Pelangai state seat in the 14th General Election (GE14), which was held by Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob before the dissolution of the state assembly.
The announcement was made by PH chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad during a talk held at the compound of Pahang Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) office in Taman Chengal here tonight.
Dr Mahathir said apart from Norhaizan, Pahang Amanah had named another 11 party leaders to contest in one parliamentary seat and 10 state seats in GE14.
Amanah secretary-general Anuar Tahir will be the party's sole representative to contest in a parliamentary seat in the state, namely Temerloh. He had contested in the 2008 general election on a PAS ticket for a state seat in Perlis, but lost.
Meanwhile, for the remaining 10 state seats, the Pahang Amanah candidates are its chairman Dr Hamzah Jaaffar for the Dong seat, deputy chairman Syed Hamid Syed Mohamed (Semantan), vice chairman I Dr Jamaluddin Abd Rahim (Pulau Tawar) and vice chairman II Ahmad Sazili Mohd Nor (Tioman).
Vice president III Zulkifli Mohamed (Beserah), Pahang Youth chief Nur Addin Ibrahim (Lepar), Pahang Women's wing secretary Sabrina Md Yusoff (Tanjung Lumpur), Pahang Welfare Bureau chairman Jelani Ludin (Jengka), Amanah Kuala Krau deputy chief Adnan Abdul Manaf (Kerdau) and Pahang Youth executive committee member Ahmad Majdi Abd Aziz (Guai).
Also present at the programme were PKR president Datin Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.
