BN Youth Manifesto A Comprehensive Strategic Plan

KUALA LUMPUR, April 10 (Bernama) -- The Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth manifesto for the 14th General Election (GE14) is described as a long-term comprehensive strategic planning.
BN Youth vice-chairman Datuk Chong Sin Woon said the eight-point guarantee given by BN to empower the young people was carefully discussed and the issues were so close to the young generation.
"Eight guarantees relating issues of marriage, salary increment and job opportunity meet the demand of the youth today, not only for five years, but it can be longer than that, until the 2050 National Transformation (TN50)," he told reporters here.
Meanwhile, MIC Youth chief Datuk C Sivarrajh said the manifesto could drastically reduce the problems faced by the young people.
"All the guarantees in this manifesto are able to restore the support and confidence of young people towards BN," he said.
BN Youth chairman Khairy Jamaluddin launched the manifesto for the GE14, dubbed the Youth Guarantee, at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), here tonight.
The manifesto underlined eight-point guarantee given by BN to empower the young people over the next five years.
They are the guarantee to provide job opportunity and training; increase income and skills; empower the economy of rural youths; facilitate access to start-up financing for young entrepreneurs; alleviate burden of young families; provide better quality of life; ensure fair opportunity in all segments; and to uphold the ideas of the young people for the TN50.
Puteri UMNO chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said the eight-point guarantee reflected the prospects and blueprint that would be adopted for the welfare of the group.
In a statement, she said young people were not just observers in the GE14, but they would also determine the future of the generation.
"Youths make up almost 40 per cent of the total number of voters, this shows their enthusiasm to equally contribute in the general election. I also believe that young people want a greater role in determining the direction of the country," she said
Selangor MIC Youth chief Kajendran Doraisamy said the manifesto which promised employment within six months to youth under 30 years would have a positive impact on the country if it was successfully implemented as it would reduce the unemployment problem.
"This manifesto, the first of its kind for youths, will provide three million job opportunities for them and this is something we have been waiting for besides free medical check-ups," he said.
