GE14: Malay voters should be wary of DAP - MCA Leader

TASEK GELUGOR, April 12 (Bernama) -- Malay voters should be wary of the DAP which only wants votes so that it can be in power at the federal level after the 14th General Election (GE14), said MCA publicity head Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker.

He said the power-hungry DAP was adopting a strategy to get the Malays to quarrel among themselves.

"Just to get Malay votes, DAP is now working with (former prime minister) Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and (former deputy prime minister ) Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, although before, the party's leaders were full of hate for the two leaders whom they had labelled as corrupt and also accused Dr Mahathir as ruling with an iron fist (when he was prime minister)," he said at a political rally here last night.

Also present were Tasek Gelugor MP, Datuk Shabudin Yahaya and Penang Gerakan Youth wing acting chief Jason Loo.

Ti said DAP's support for Dr Mahathir only showed their hypocrisy because now they were willing to be 'strange bedfellows'.

Dr Mahathir is now leading an opposition pact made up of DAP, PKR, Parti Amanah Negara and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), which has since been temporarily disbanded by the Registrar of Societies for not furnishing certain documents on party matters that it required by March 29. PPBM was formed by Dr Mahathir of which he took the chairman's post while Muhyiddin was made president.
