Sabah BN Manifesto out next week - Rahman Dahlan

KOTA KINABALU, April 12 (Bernama) -- The Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) is expected to launch the state manifesto by early next week, said its secretary Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan today.
"There is a window that was given, but I don't think it (the launch of the state manifesto) will be later than early next week," he said.
He said not long after the launch of the state manifesto, he also expected Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman, who is also the state BN chairman, to announce the BN candidates contesting in the 14th General Election.
Abdul Rahman, who is also a minister in the Prime Minister's Department, said this to reporters after launching a computerised balloting of public infrastructure maintenance projects and basic infrastructure projects for Kota Kinabalu near here.
He said he assumed that when Musa announced the names, all the candidates would have at least been informed.
Asked by reporters to confirm if he would be fielded to contest the Sepanggar parliamentary seat, Abdul Rahman said: "Until and after the announcement (of candidates) is made, I will assume that I am still here (as the potential candidate for Sepanggar)."
He said he had received instructions from the party to go down to the ground in Sepanggar.
"But rest assured. I think the probability is quite high that I will be representing the great party of UMNO in Sepanggar," he said.
Abdul Rahman, who was the MP for Kota Belud prior to the dissolution of parliament, also said that he had received requests from grassroots leaders in Kota Belud to defend the constituency.
"Obviously, if I recontest in Kota Belud, I will win comfortably because I have given 10 years of my service and ever since I became a (federal) minister, I have brought development there worth nearly RM1 billion.
"But if the party leadership tells me to go to a new constituency, I have no choice but to shoulder the responsibility to ensure BN's victory in the Sepanggar constituency," he said.
