JOHOR BAHRU, April 12 (Bernama) -- The Islamic Johor concept is one of the focuses of the Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) manifesto, to be launched on April 14.

Johor BN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said apart from maintaining the Islamic Johor concept, among initiatives to be offered by the state BN manifesto to be launched on Saturday, was to ensure that the state government religious schools remain relevant.

"Whatever we (Johor BN) will do, we will ensure that it will benefit the community, especially the Muslims," he told reporters after officiating the construction of the Sekolah Agama Kerajaan Johor (SAJK) phase five that involved three schools, namely, SAJK in Taman Bukit Mutiara, Taman Cahaya Masai and Kong Kong Laut at the Taman Bukit Mutiara Mosque square, here today.

The event was also attended by Tiram assemblyman Datuk Maulizan Bujang.

Mohamed Khaled, who is also Johor Menteri Besar, said this when commenting on the essence of the Johor BN manifesto to be launched this Saturday.

Mohamed Khaled said the Johor BN manifesto would offer more relevant and comprehensive initiatives to benefit all races.

"They (the opposition) mentioned about Malay tsunami, how is that even possible when their own manifesto has no special offer for the Malays," said Mohamed Khaled who is also Permas assemblyman.

Earlier, Mohamad Khaled in his speech also gave an indication to wrest back the Puteri Wangsa state seat to UMNO if the people gave full support to the party.

In GE13, the Puteri Wangsa state seat saw BN candidate from MIC M. Soorianarayanan losing to Abdullah Husin from PAS (3,469-vote majority).

Meanwhile, RM18.5 million was allocated for the construction of three SAKJs in Taman Bukit Mutiara, SAKJ Taman Cahaya Masai and SAKJ Kong Kong Laut, expected to be completed within a year and a half.
