Terengganu BN launches five-thrust manifesto





KUALA BERANG, April 12 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu Barisan Nasional (BN) manifesto has outlined five thrusts to face the 14th General Election, namely, upholding Islam and religious harmony; enhancing efforts to ease the people's burden and to build the TN50 generation to face the industrial revolution 4.0.

The manifesto, launched today, also committed to empowering education as the foundation of human resource excellence and highlighting women's active involvement in various fields.

Themed 'Masa Hadapan, Kita Bina Bersama' (The Future, We Build Together), the manifesto was announced by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman during the launch of Hulu Terengganu parliamentary election machinery which was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Also present were Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister and Hulu Terengganu Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Jailani Johari and about 20,000 members of the BN machinery.

Ahmad Razif, who is also the state BN chairman, said Terengganu continued to achieve successes under the BN-led government that had always been committed to fulfill the aspirations of the people.

In the manifesto, the state BN also offered 20 additional initiatives that would benefit the young people especially in employment and sports.

Among the initiatives were to create 40,000 jobs; to build an additional 20,000 units of affordable homes, to create one-stop centre (JobsTerengganu), to create strategic plan for industrial revolution 4.0 for TN50 generation and to turn motor sports and e-sports as high-impact sports.

Also listed were to create an integrated flood relief centre in every district; expanding public transport networks in the high-density areas; to establish Imtiaz primary school (Seri); to establish haemodialysis centre in every area; to reduce LPT2 toll charges by 50 per cent in stages and to build PPR housing in each district.

Some of the initiatives were to change the status of PPR housing units from rental to hire-purchase scheme; to build LPT3; to expand the transformation assistance programme to hawkers' stalls and micro entrepreneurs; to empower daily religious centres for adults in each district and introduce special card for those listed in the e-kasih, persons with disabilities, single mothers and orphans.

Other initiatives were to expand the 'Jualan Sentuhan Rakyat' programme to all districts; to ensure that employment and business opportunities stemming from the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project to prioritise the Terengganu people; to increase the involvement of qualified women in government administration and GLCs and to establish Tahfiz Darul Iman centre in every district.
