UMNO social media machinery must support, promote BN candidates
PONTIAN, April 12 (Bernama) -- UMNO's social media machinery have been reminded to help, support and support all Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates even if it is not their choice.
UMNO Information Technology bureau chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said he had instructed 191 members of UMNO social media machinery to promote BN candidates regardless of which party they are from.
"Everyone must support BN candidates, does not matter from which party, whether UMNO, MIC or Gerakan...I want to remind that after the candidates have been nominated, all must help to promote him, whatever party he is from."
"There should not be any feelings of disagreement...even if the candidate is not our choice (from UMNO), even if he is from other parties, we stand on one logo (BN)," he told reporters after attending a gathering with fishermen in the Pontian district here today.
At the same time, he also reminded all UMNO IT machinery not to spread lies but to stick to the truth which would benefit the people and country.
"I do not allow even stories which are partially true to be spread on the UMNO social media network because there are many true news about our government. So only the true stories are allowed," he said.
Ahmad Maslan added that since the Anti-Fake News Act 2018 was gazetted yesterday, there has been less fake news.
