BN to field a female candidate in Terengganu - Ahmad Razif
KUALA BERANG, April 12 (Bernama) -- Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman today confirmed that a female candidate will be fielded to represent Barisan Nasional in Terengganu in the 14th General Election (GE14).
He said the name and the seat to be contested by the female candidate, however, could not be disclosed until the official announcement was made.
This is to appreciate the struggles of women and has also been agreed to by the party leadership, Ahmad Razif, who is also Terengganu BN chairman, said at the launch of the Terengganu BN Manifesto by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi here today.
Under the manifesto, the Terengganu BN outlined five thrusts to face the GE14, namely, upholding Islam and religious harmony; enhancing efforts to ease the people's burden and to build the TN50 generation to face the fourth industrial revolution.
The manifesto themed 'The Future, We Build Together' also committed to empowering education as the foundation of human resource excellence and highlighting women's active involvement in various fields.
