Coastal roads to boost local economy - Abang Johari
KUCHING, April 13 (Bernama) -- Construction of bridges to connect roads in the coastal areas of Sarawak will boost the local economy, said Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
He said the state government was also always fair in its action to build roads such as in remote areas, regardless of racial or religious backgrounds.
Opening the Ummah Development Seminar 2018, organised by the Sarawak Islamic Council and Sarawak Islamic Religious Department here today, he said bridges needed to be built to cross the Batang Lupar, Batang Saribas and Batang Lassa in the coastal areas.
"Under my leadership, we want to built coastal roads and these areas are inhabited by many Muslims.
"We pray that within eight years, all these plans will be ready and the residents in these areas can exploit the existing resources and increase their income, " he added.
