Perlis Siamese community continues to support BN

ARAU, April 13 (Bernama) -- The Siamese community in Perlis has never been excluded from any aid that is being channelled by the Barisan Nasional government to the people in the state.

Behor Gelam Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) chairman Goh Kim Ting @ Urai said as such, there was no reason for the minority community to reject the BN in the 14th General Election (GE14) on May 9.

"Even though in Perlis there are only about 7,000 Siamese, the government has paid special attention especially to the community´s religious affairs by channeling various assistance to Siamese temples in the state.

"Many activities in the form of aid and contributions from the government are held in the temple areas so that the Siamese community can gather easily and we are very satisfied with this development," he told Bernama here today.

He said almost all the Siamese villages in Perlis have their own temples such as in Jejawi, Guar Musang, Kubang Tiga, Behor Gelam, Padang Jelutong and Guar Nangka.

In addition, he said the Siamese community was also not forgotten whenever there was any distribution of donations such as schooling aid, food and clothes to orphans, senior citizens and single mothers by the state government.

"I hope the Siamese community in Perlis can help to retain the BN government to rule the state and country so as to continue receiving due attention, " he said.
