All promises in Negeri Sembilan BN GE13 manifesto fulfilled - Mohamad

SEREMBAN, April 13 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan Barisan Nasional (BN) 44-point manifesto for the 13th General Election (GE13) has been achieved within five years, state BN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said.

He said even though, at the early stage, the state BN listed 45 elements in the manifesto, one of them had to be dropped as it was more of a desire rather than necessity.

"Only one promise left, namely building an Islamic Civilisation Centre. We feel that it´s better to spend the allocation for the construction of the centre to address people´s problems. That's why we didn't do it," he said in a special interview with Bernama here.

However, Mohamad, who is Negeri Sembilan menteri besar, said that it would not be included in the Negeri Sembilan BN manifesto for the coming 14th General Election which would be launched on April 21 but to be implemented under the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council (MAINS).

The pledges in the manifesto include giving incentives to those born in the state who obtain first class honours at institutions of higher learning, upgrading the Tahfiz Al-Quran Institute in Gemencheh, achieving zero hardcore poverty and increasing the number of affordable houses.

Others include expanding free Wifi service, improve roads, solving the gazette of 40 Orang Asli villages which had not been gazetted and declaring Seremban as a city.
