Muhyiddin hints at running for Gambir state seat

MUAR, April 14 (Bernama) -- Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today hinted that he might contest in Johor's Gambir state seat in the 14th General Election (GE14).
Speaking to reporters here, Muhyiddin, who is the incumbent for the Pagoh parliamentary seat, also confirmed that he would be contesting a parliamentary seat in the state.
However, he did not disclose whether he would be defending the Pagoh seat or contesting elsewhere.
Muhyiddin said the decision to contest in the state seat would be based on his own analysis and discussions with other Pakatan Harapan component leaders.
In GE13, the Gambir seat was won by Datuk M. Asojan from Barisan Nasional with a 310-vote majority, defeating three other candidates, namely Datuk Dr. Mahfodz Mohamed (PAS) and two Independent candidates - Mohd Zan Abu and Yunus Mustakim.
