Johor BN manifesto complete, holistic - Ahmad Maslan

PONTIAN, April 15 (Bernama) -- The Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) manifesto is complete and holistic as it covers people from all levels of society.

Pontian UMNO division deputy chief, Datuk Ahmad Maslan said the manifesto which stressed five core thrusts was much better than that of the opposition which copied the government's ideas and efforts.

"I see the Menteri Besar is always looking at Johor in a holistic manner and that is why the five thrusts launched yesterday cover people from all aspects of life, whether in the villages or cities, as well as skills, education, infrastructure and religion," he said after officiating an Orang Asli futsal game and the Ziarah Kasih programme here today.

Ahmad, who is also International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister and Pontian MP, said the manifesto was in line with the one launched by the federal government which sought to meet the needs of people from all walks of life without neglecting anyone.

"Today's administration is different from that during the time of (former prime minister) Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's administration is more practical and cares for the people, especially the needy," he said.

The 'Johor Hi-5' manifesto launched yesterday contains 230 pledges for the people of the state.

The five core thrusts in the manifesto are economic growth; provision of comprehensive infrastructure; development of the mind, talent and skills; high performance leadership; and establishment of a sustainable, Islamic and cultured community.
