PPBM announces candidates for Putrajaya, Titiwangsa





PUTRAJAYA, April 15 (Bernama) -- Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) today announced academician Datuk Dr Samsu Adabi Mamat as its candidate for the Putrajaya parliamentary seat in the 14th General Election (GE14), polling of which is on May 9.

The announcement was made by Federal Territory PPBM chief Captain (Rtd) Muhammad Suhaimi Yahya at the Putrajaya PPBM office here tonight.

Muhammad Suhaimi also announced PPBM Women head Rina Harun as its candidate for the Titiwangsa parliamentary seat.

Both the Putrajaya and Titiwangsa seats are expected to see three-cornered fights as PAS had earlier announced that it would also be contesting in both places.

Nomination is on April 28, and early voting on May 5.

In GE13, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor retained Putrajaya for Barisan Nasional (BN) for three consecutive terms, defeating PAS candidate Datuk Husam Musa with a majority of 5,541 votes.

Meanwhile, in Titiwangsa, Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani from BN defeated PAS candidate Ahmad Zamri Asa'ad Khuzaimi with a majority of 866 votes.

In Parit Buntar, Perak Amanah chairman Asmuni Awi announced that former Parit Buntar MP Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa is its candidate for Parit Buntar and Perak Amanah Youth chief Hasnul Zulkarnain Abd Munaim to stand in the Titi Serong state seat.
