KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 (Bernama) -- The PKR-led Selangor Government has nothing to be proud of except the RM11 water rebate, said assemblyman for Kuang in the 13th Parliament Datuk Abdul Shukur Idrus.

The Barisan Nasional (BN) representative said that despite low charges, the people were forced to face water crisis that affected daily lives and businesses.

He said this to Bernama after launching the 'Koperasi Pemilik dan Pemandu Kenderaan Komersial India Bhd' and handing over the vehicle keys to 10 recipients of the Vehicle Loan Scheme here today.

Starting April 2010, the Selangor government provides 20 cubic metres of free water or an average rebate of RM11 per month.

Therefore, Abdul Shukur believed that BN was better prepared to recapture Selangor in the 14th General Election (GE14).

Asked whether he would contest in the coming general election, the former Selangor UMNO Youth chief said: "If I'm told to defend the seat, I will do it, and if there is a new face, I will continue to support BN candidates."

In the 13th General Election, Abdul Shukur won the Kuang state seat, beating Tenku Maraziyah Tenku Sulaiman from PKR and Zahariman Abd Latip (Bebas) by a majority of 1,255 votes.
