Jerantut UMNO lodges police report over vandalised BN billboard
JERANTUT, April 17 (Bernama) -- The Jerantut UMNO Division lodged a police report today over the smearing of black paint on a Barisan Nasional billboard bearing a picture of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak here.
Its secretary, Ahmad Nizam Mohd Hassan, said he noticed the vandalised billboard, located at the intersection of the road leading to the Jerantut industrial area, early today.
"The billboard was erected about two weeks ago following the announcement of the BN election manifesto. We deeply regret this incident as it has tarnished the image of the prime minister."
"We don't want to accuse anyone, but we want an investigation to be carried out to prevent similar incidents in the run-up to the general election," he told reporters after lodging the report at the Jerantut District Police headquarters here.
Ahmad Nizam advised all quarters to act with maturity and to respect differences and refrain from doing anything seen as a cheap provocation.
