'Kawan Setia' song re-recorded after 39 years to foster loyalty
KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 Bernama) -- Two songs sung by Datuk DJ Dave 'Kawan Setia' and 'Negaraku Tercinta' have been re-recorded after 39 years in the effort to foster a sense of loyalty among the people.
Advisor to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Khairil Annas Jusoh said the two songs would be given a new take and included in a special album titled 'Nada Titma Negara ' Kawan Setia'.
"The album is the brainchild of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who picked out some very meaningful lyrics of the song ;Kawan Setia' for the 2017 UMNO annual assembly.
"This bid by the Office of the Advisor to the Prime Minister together with Yayasan Perdana Ummah and Yayasan Mustika Kasih is to realise the Prime Minister's wishes to instil loyalty among the people in the country," he said at the launch of the special album today.
During the 2017 UMNO General Assembly, Najib used parts of the song to symbolise his close ties with his deputy Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Khairil Annas said the album would be given a new touch by noted composer S. Atan who also included a video clip which could be viewed on social media for free soon.
He hoped the special album would have a positive impact on the loyalty of people of various races in the country.
