State BN manifesto meets the needs of Kedah's Youth

ALOR SETAR, April 20 (Bernama) -- The youth in Kedah have described the state Barisan Nasional (BN) manifesto launched today as one which meets their needs and aspirations.
Muhammad Ilman Syahir Ibrahim, 19, said the manifesto's offer under its Youth Cluster proved that the state government had never viewed lightly the needs and wants of young people in Kedah.
"We, young people are loyal supporters of the 'Lang Merah' (Red Eagles) team and the construction of a new RM200 million football stadium will be able to accommodate more supporters than the existing one.
"Apart from that, the state government will also be enhancing (facilities for) sports with potential of producing champions such as in squash, who can bring glory to the state and country," he told Bernama here tonight.
Muhammad Akif Azhar, 21, said the state government was concerned about the education of the younger generation, as it offered Royal Scholarships, worth RM10 million, to enable them to pursue their studies at Masters and doctorate levels at leading universities in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Langkawi UMNO Youth chief Ahmad Marzuki Shariat said the manifesto launched for GE14 was better than the previous ones, where it covered all the aspects for the well-being of the people of Kedah.
"Our menteri besar has always been concerned about the people of Kedah, that is why the manifesto launched (today) has touched on every aspect and target group, and will benefit the people.
"In addition, I am quite attracted to the establishment of the Kedah Youth State Assembly which can provide more opportunities for young people to voice out their views and opinions," he said.
Earlier, Kedah Menteri Besar and State BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah launched the Kedah BN Manifesto with the theme 'Continuing Development, Propelling Dreams' at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium which was attended by more than 5,000 members of BN.
