Terengganu BN to announce candidates for GE14 Tomorrow
KUALA TERENGGANU, April 21 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu Barisan Nasional (BN) will announce it candidates contesting for the 32 state and eight parliamentary seats in the 14th general election (GE14) tomorrow.
A statement issued by the Menteri Besar's office, said the announcement would be made by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman, who is also State UMNO Liaison chairman, at his official residence, Seri Iman, at 10.30 am.
Yesterday, Ahmad Razif , who is the incumbent Seberang Takir assemblyman, announced that he would defend his state seat in GE14.
He also confirmed the names of candidates who would be contesting in the Kuala Nerus parliamentary constituency, but did not say which seat they would be fielded for.
They are Dr Tengku Asmadi Tengku Mohamad, Datuk Basir Ismail, Tuan Arif Sahibul Fadilah Tuan Ahmad and Che Mansor Salleh.
Ahmad Razif also fulfilled the state BN's promise of fielding a female candidate in GE14, naming Marang Wanita UMNO leader Toh Puan Zaitun Mat Amin.
In the 13th general election, BN was able to form the state government in Terengganu after winning 17 of the 32 state seats. It won four out of eight parliamentary seats in the the state.
