No basis in opposition's claim that Hishammuddin neglected Sembrong

JOHOR BAHRU, April 21 (Bernama) -- The Sembrong Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth movement is disappointed with the unfounded statement made by PKR Sembrong parliamentary coordinator, Onn Abu Bakar that Sembrong Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein had neglected the parliamentary constituency.
Its chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the claims that residents were disappointed and dissatisfied with Hishammuddin's performance in terms of housing, education and health were defamatory utterances to confuse voters.
"He (Onn) made the statements as if he is never here (Sembrong). He does not know what is happening. People in Sembrong are aware of the Opposition's way of campaigning. They will appear once in five years to complain and tell lies so that the people will hate the leaders who had worked hard," Onn Hafiz said in a video uploaded on Sembrong P153 Facebook page, today.
Onn Hafiz was commenting on Onn's recent statement claiming that based on his observation and after meeting the people, it was found that people were disappointed with Hishammuddin.
Onn Hafiz said that for the education agenda, Hishammuddin, had built seven schools in the parliamentary constituency since he served the area. Two of the schools namely Sekolah Menengah Sains Sembrong and Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Kota Paloh were categorised as excellent schools.
He said the UMNO vice-president had also taken care of the welfare of teachers, assisted the PTAs of religious schools, Chinese and Tamil national type schools and provided various other facilities for pupils in the area.
He said in terms of health, there is a 1Malaysia Clinic in the area and Hishammuddin himself had donated six dialysis machines to the Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Kluang to cater to patients from Sembrong and Kluang areas.
As for the Felcra Sungai 10 People's Housing Project (PPR) in Paloh, Onn Hafiz said the project was being implemented according to schedule.
"This was promised by the Prime Minister during Hari Raya celebration last year, so how can he (Onn) say that it was just an empty promise.
He said they had also identified the land for the Felda Second Generation Friendly Homes and Hishammuddin was not helping just one Felda scheme but six Felda schemes in Sembrong.
"Please stop spreading lies and do check your facts before making a statement. I am confident that the people of Sembrong are able to differentiate between truth and lies and who is the opportunist who only comes here once in five years," he said.
