GE14: Bernama denies publishing news on announcement of BN candidates
KUALA TERENGGANU, April 21 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency denies carrying any news report on postponement of the announcement of Terengganu Barisan Nasional's candidates which is scheduled for tomorrow.
Bernama Terengganu bureau chief Zalina Maizan Ngah said the fake news went viral on WhatsApp and Facebook late tonight quoting Bernama as the source when in fact Bernama never carried such a story.
"These irresponsible people are trying portray a negative picture of the situation and put the state government in bad light after it decided to announce the names of the candidates tomorrow at the Menteri Besar's residence Seri Iman. Bernama as a responsible news agency never at any time reported any news about postponement of the announcement .
She added that further action will be taken in accordance to the law after referring to the higher authorities.
According to the Menteri Besar's Office, the announcement will proceed as scheduled at 10.30am tomorrow at Seri Iman and that there is no postponement whatsoever.
