Pokok Sena voters should come out of the 'darkness' - Kedah MB

POKOK SENA, April 22 (Bernama) -- Voters in the Pokok Sena parliamentary constituency who have been living in the 'darkness' under the Opposition have been urged to return the mandate to Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 14th General Election (GE14).

State BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said this was because only BN could give hope to the people in the constituency, who had been much deprived of development.

"The people cannot be cheated again this time, don't repeat your past mistakes, because the losers will ultimately be the people themselves," he said in his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony of the 1Malaysia Civil Servants Housing project here, today.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak officiated the ceremony.

Ahmad Bashah, who is also the menteri besar said the good cooperation between the state and central governments was essential to launch development projects by the BN government, irrespective of the area and society living there.

In GE13, the Pokok Sena parliamentary seat was won by Datuk Mahfuz Omar under the PAS ticket, while the Bukit Pinang state seat went to Wan Romani Wan Salim (PAS) and Derga state seat (Tan Kok Yew-DAP).

Only the Bukit Lada state seat was won by BN's Datuk Ahmad Lebai Sudin.
