13 Sets of nomination forms sold in Sibu to date
SIBU, April 23 (Bernama) -- A total of 13 sets of nomination forms have been sold to potential candidates of the 14th General Election (GE14) here.
Sibu Election Commission (EC) returning officer Jong Thian Puk said this included six sets of forms bought by SUPP led by its deputy president II Chieng Buong Toon.
"Four sets of forms have been bought by representatives from DAP, while three sets were bought by certain people from Sarikei," he told reporters after Chieng came to the EC officer to purchase form from him today.
SUPP has nominated Michael Tiang, Robert Lau Hui Yew and Chieng for the Bandar Sibu parliamentary constituency.
For the Lanang parliamentary seat, SUPP Dudong branch chief Wong Ching Yong, SUPP Dudong branch deputy chairman Kelvin Kong and SUPP Bukit Assek Youth chief Joseph Chieng are being nominated as candidates.
"I will keep the forms until state Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman (Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg) makes the announcement on the candidates contesting for GE14 tomorrow," said Chieng,
Abang Johari is expected to make the announcement at PBB headquarters at Jalan Bako, Kuching tomorrow.
