Don't be agents of slanderous opposition - Najib

KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has reminded the people against disseminating slander practised by the opposition during the 14th General Election (GE14).

Najib pointed out that such practices could break up friendly relations and family ties and even worse, it could bring disintegration and destruction to the country.

"This is not the first time that I am posting this matter, but during the election period even more serious slanders are hurled by the opposition, like #TsunamiPHitnah.

"So, I wish to remind again that we should not be the tool of such irresponsible groups," he said via his Twitter website today.

He also uploaded a picture showing as though 15 million plastic finger cots were being supplied during GE14 to enable voters to cast their votes several times.

Describing the slander as having 'evil' intention, the picture on the other hand claimed that they were meant for those who had accidentally cut their fingers.

The Election Commission (EC) had set May 9 as polling day for GE14 and April 28 as nomination day while early voting is on May 5.
