PAS deputy president to contest in Kubang Kerian, Mursyidul Am in Arau




SHAH ALAM, April 24 (Bernama) -- PAS has announced that its deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man will be contesting in the Kubang Kerian parliamentary seat in Kelantan in the 14th general election while its Mursyidul Am (spiritual leader) Hashim Jasin the Arau parliamentary seat in Perlis,

The announcement was made by PAS president, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang at a rally in Section 18 here tonight.

Also present was Selangor PAS commissioner Sallehen Mukhyi, who announced six candidates from PAS´s Gagasan Sejahtera partners who will be contesting in two parliamentary and four Selangor state constituencies.

The two candidates for the parliamentary seats are Brig Gen (Rtd) Datuk Hashim Abdul Karim (Selayang) and Mohd Shahir Mohd Adnan (Subang).

As for the four state seats, the candidates are Datuk Lim Ying Ran (Kinrara), Datuk Seri David Sew Kah Heng (Bukit Gasing), Maj Gen (Rtd) Datuk Seri Mohamad Badri Abdul Rahman (Subang Jaya) and G. S Santokh Singh (Pandamaran).

Sallehen also announced that PAS candidate, Jefri Mejan would contest the Ijok state seat.

Altogether, the party will contest with its Gagasan Sejahtera partners in 21 out of 22 parliamentary seats and 51 out of 56 state seats.

Last Thursday, Sallehen said Selangor PAS and Dewan Himpunan Penyokong PAS (DHPP) would contest in 19 parliamentary seats and 46 state seats.

Meanwhile, Sallehen said there was a switching of seats between the Bangi parliamentary and Sungai Ramal state constituencies.

Mohd Shafie Ngah, who has been fielded to contest in Sungai Ramal, will be switching with Ustaz Nushi Mahfodz for the Bangi parliamentary seat and vice versa, he said -- BERNAMA
