Ahmad Zahid visits UMNO deputy permanent chairman
BATU PAHAT, April 25 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today visited UMNO's deputy permanent chairman and Johor State Legislative Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Aziz at his home in Parit Raja near here.
Mohamad, 78, is recovering from a heart bypass operation that he underwent in February at a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur.
Ahmad Zahid arrived at about 1 pm today and was greeted by Mohamad and his wife Puan Sri Azizah Zakaria, and spent about an hour at their home.
He was served lunch with a special serving of 'nasi ambeng', a traditional dish of the Javanese community in Johor.
Accompanying the UMNO vice president who is also carrying out the duties of deputy president were Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Johor Police Chief Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd as well as several local political leaders.
Earlier, Ahmad Zahid had attended the closing ceremony of the Saham Amanah Malaysia Week 2018 held at Stadium Batu Pahat near here.
