SAPP to contest one parliamentary, four state seats

KOTA KINABALU, April (Bernama) -- SAPP will be contesting in one parliamentary and four state constituencies in the 14th General Election (GE14) in Sabah.

Its president Datuk Yong Teck Lee, a former Sabah chief minister who served in 1996-1998, would also be making a comeback by contesting for the parliamentary seat of Kota Kinabalu.

When announcing the candidates, its deputy president Melanie Chia said SAPP, a component party of Gabungan Sabah, would also be fielding Lim Kat Chung, 39, from its Youth wing, in Api-Api state constituency.

Also contesting under the SAPP ticket is Johor-born entrepreneur Gee Tien Siong, 45, who has lived in Sabah for 35 years, for the Luyang state seat.

Gee is also a founding member of SAPP.
