Ge14: BN party members contesting as independent candidates to face disciplinary action
KUALA LUMPUR, April 26 (Bernama) -- Members of Barisan Nasional component parties contesting as independent candidates in the 14th general election will face disciplinary action.
BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said he was monitoring the situation.
"If BN component party members contest as independent candidates or represent other parties, we will take action," he told reporters after attending the Cheras Education Foundation (YPC) UPSR, PT3 and SPM 2017 Excellence Award ceremony here today.
Asked about Tan Sri M.Kayveas who was sacked as the MyPPP president, Tengku Adnan said it was up to him but he had asked all component parties to resolve their internal problems in facing GE14.
"As the BN secretary-general, I have sent a letter to all component parties to resolve their internal problems.
"If there are internal problems, we advise myPPP to take disciplinary action against members who have violated the party's constitution," he said.
Earlier, Tengku Adnan, who is the Federal Territories Minister, presented the National Education Savings Scheme of between RM200 and RM300 to 225 students who achieved excellent results in the UPSR, PT3 and SPM 2017 examinations.
On behalf of the YPC, he also presented a special education assistance amounting to RM86,860 to 82 individuals, schools and institutions of higher learning.
