Sabah CM faces 2 contenders in Sungai Sibuga

SANDAKAN, April 28 (Bernama) -- Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman is facing two contenders for the state seat of Sungai Sibuga in the 14th general election.

His rivals are Warisan's Asmara Abdul Rahman, 63, and Osman Enting, 75, of Parti Kebangsaan Sabah.

Musa arrived at the nomination centre at Dewan Serbaguna Libaran at 9 am and was the first to submit his nomination papers to returning officer Fauziah Giau.

He was accompanied by UMNO Libaran division secretary Datuk Salzo Asa who acted as his proposer, and Amsain Jausin, as seconder.

Also seen with Musa at the centre were Barisan Nasional's candidate for Libaran parliamentary constituency, Datuk Zakaria Mohd Edris, and Datuk Juslie Ajirol, who is BN's candidate for the state seat of Gum-Gum.

Musa told reporters when met that the nomination process went smoothly, in a democratic manner.

Meanwhile, he said all parties must obey the rules to avoid any unfavourable incident during the election.

On Sabah BN's election campaign, he said he had instructed all UMNO and BN leaders to be on their toes.

He said facts and evidence were there to show that BN had served the people well; he believes the people in Sabah would continue to support BN's candidates.

In GE13, Musa defeated four other candidates to retain the seat with an 11,565-vote majority.
