Budiman faces PKR, PAS candidates in Sungai Besar

SUNGAI BESAR, April 28 (Bernama) -- Barisan Nasional Sungai Besar parliamentary incumbent, Budiman Mohd Zohdi will be opposed by candidates from PKR-PPBM and PAS in the 14th general election (GE14).

Sungai Besar returning officer Mohd Khairuddin Md Som in announcing the contenders said the two other candidates were Muslimin Yahya (PH-PPBM) and Mohamad Salleh M. Husin of PAS.

Budiman won the Sungai Besar by-election on June 18 2016 with a 9,191-vote majority following the death of BN incumbent, Tan Sri Noriah Kasnon in a helicopter crash in Sibuyau, Sarawak.

However, Budiman who is also the incumbent of Sungai Panjang state seat is not standing for the state constituency this time.

The seat will see Datuk Mohd Imran Tamrin, a BN new face, contesting against Mohd Razali Saari (PAS) and PKR's Mariam Abdul Rashid.

The Sekinchan state seat will see a three-cornered fight between BN's Lee Yee Yuan, Mohd Fadzlin Taslimin of PAS and seat incumbent, Ng Suee Lim of DAP.
