Five-cornered fight for Kota Lama in Kota Bharu
KOTA BHARU, April 28 (Bernama) -- Former Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Ab Rashid Ab Rahman is contesting as a PKR candidate in a five-cornered fight for the Kota Lama state seat in the Kota Bharu parliamentary constituency in GE14.
He will face Datuk Anuar Tan Abdullah (PAS), Chua Hock Kuan (BN), Izat Bukhari Ismail Bukhari (Independent) and Khairul Nizam Abdul Ghani (PSM).
For the Kota Bharu parliamentary seat, it will witness a three-cornered fight among BN candidate Fikhran Hamshi Mohamad Fatmi, PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan and Amanah vice-president Husam Musa.
Tanjong Mas and Bunut Payong are the other two state seats in the Kota Bharu parliamentary with BN, PAS and PKR contesting for both seats.
For the Tanjong Mas seat, it will be a tussle among three women, comprising Dr Hafidzah Mustakim (PKR), Madihah Ab Aziz (BN) and Rohani Ibrahim (PAS).
The contenders for the Bunut Payong state seat are Datuk Mohamed Hasnan Che Hussin (BN), Datuk Ramli Mamat (PAS) and Sanusi Othman (PKR).
Their names were announced by Returning Officer Datuk Zamri Ismail today.
