Rozman expects to win Labuan hands down
LABUAN, April 28 (Bernama) -- Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Rozman Isli today called on voters here to come out in full force on polling day, May 9.
He said the turnout should rightly increase to match the increase in the number of registered voters from 24, 474 (GE13) to 28, 356.
"We are banking on the support of not only BN's traditional voters but also the new voters. Exercise your right and vote for BN for continuous development of Labuan."
"We must not be complacent that victory is already in our hands; importantly, we want to see increased turnout so as to increase BN majority; after all, casting vote is done only once in every five years," he told reporters after submitting his nomination form at the nomination centre at Labuan Matriculation College here.
Rozman is defending the Labuan seat against candidates from PAS, Warisan and Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah. He won the constituency in GE13 with a 6, 625 majority over PKR and PAS.
"Although, it is rumoured that a former Labuan member of parliament is supporting Warisan, I must also thank our two former MPs Datuk Suhaili Abd Rahman and Datuk Yussof Mahal for their moral support," he said.
BN component parties here have pledged to rally behind Rozman.
