BN supporter dies during nomination process in Tanjong Karang




TANJONG KARANG, April 28 (Bernama) -- A Barisan Nasional (BN) supporter died of suspected heart attack this morning while waiting for the announcement of candidates for the Tanjong Karang parliamentary seat in the 14th General Election (GE14) at the Tanjong Hormat hall here.

Mad Som Sani was 68.

The BN supporter from Kampung Bagan Pasir, suddenly collapsed and was sent to the Tanjong Karang Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9.55 am.

His demise was confirmed by Selangor BN chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar during an event at the Sungai Yu People's Housing programme here.

Mad Som was buried at the Tanjong Karang Muslim Cemetery about 2 pm.

Noh, who is also Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister, said the incident was shocking.

"This is my sixth time contesting in general election and this is the first time one of my supporters died during the nomination and election process. I am saddened by his sudden death," said the candidate for the Tanjong Karang seat.
