MCA expels two for contesting as independents





KUALA LUMPUR, April 28 (Bernama) -- The MCA today expelled with immediate effect, two party members for standing as independent candidates in the 14th General Election (GE14).

Its deputy president, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong in a statement said Dr Lim Yak Hong and Ting Choon Chai faced disciplinary action for contesting as independents for the Puteri Wangsa state seat in Johor.

He said action was taken as per the decision made by the 28th Central Committee Meeting on Dec 19 last year.

"Any member who acts against the party's interests during the GE14 shall be expelled from the party with immediate effect," he said.
