Shahanim confident BN can recapture Sungai Petani in GE14

SUNGAI PETANI, April 28 (Bernama) -- The sole woman candidate for parliamentary seats in Kedah, Datuk Shahanim Mohamad Yusoff, 45, who will contest the Sungai Petani seat, is confident the BN can recapture the parliamentary sea in the 14th General Election (GE14).
She was optimistic of a BN victory although it had lost the seat in the past two general elections because the party machinery had worked hard to provide the best service to the people.
"No doubt there will be a stiff competition as the Sungai Petani seat has 112,577 voters, among the most in the state. I am confident that the voters will make a wise choice," she told reporters after the nomination at the Sungai Petani Municipal Council here today.
Sungai Petani seat will see a four-cornered fight among Datuk Johari Abdul (PKR), Sharir Long (PAS), Shahanim (BN) and P. Sritharen (PRM).
