Johari's priority is empowering Titiwangsa youths, women

KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) -- Attending to the needs of women and young voters in the Titiwangsa parliamentary constituency is the priority for Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani who will be defending the seat for Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 14th General Election (GE14).
He said the younger generation and women were different today, in that they not only wanted stability but also to go far in life.
"Hence, empowering women entrepreneurs, developing more affordable housing and improving public transportation in the constituency will continue to be my priority.
"I have helped develop many women into entrepreneurs to allow them to earn more for their families, such as providing cooking and baking essentials to kick-start their business," he told the media during a cycling event held at Gelombang Kampung Bharu, which is part of his GE14 campaign kick-off.
He noted there were more People's Housing Projects (PPR) and Rumah Mampu Milik (Affordable Housing) for urbanites to be built and developed.
Johari hoped urbanites would make full use of public transportation, which he believed would also help one to save on costs involved in owning and maintaining a car.
He said to achieve developed nation status, the efficiency and reliability of its public transportation would always be one of its contributing factors.
Meanwhile, Johari admitted that it could be a tough fight ahead in the constituency which he won with a 866 vote-margin in GE13.
The Titiwangsa parliamentary seat will see a three-cornered fight involving Johari, Rina Harun (PKR- PPBM) and Mohamad Noor Mohamad (PAS), this time around.
