BN candidate's banners burnt
GEORGE TOWN, April 29 (Bernama) -- Two banners belonging to Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Pulau Tikus state seat Loo Jieh Sheng were found burnt by unknown parties.
Loo, 36, who is the acting Penang Gerakan youth chief, said his team discovered the burnt banners early this morning and two police reports had been lodged about the incidents.
He said those responsible for this had made a big mistake if they thought the incident would stop him from revealing issues about the state government.
"I am not scared of these actions and will continue to speak out for the sake of the people of Penang. This is an irresponsible act to sabotage the BN campaign, whoever the culprit is," he told reporters here today.
Loo said the banners, which bore his face with the words "Vote me for Check & Balance" were put up yesterday, and damaged barely 12 hours later.
Meanwhile, a police spokesman confirmed the incident and that police had received two reports on it.
