Kota Anggerik PAS candidate exposes own party's weaknesses

SHAH ALAM, April 29 (Bernama) -- PAS candidate for the Kota Anggerik state seat Ahmad Dusuki Abdul Rani revealed the party's own weaknesses when he claimed that of late, the number of massage parlours and gambling dens in Shah Alam had increased.

Shah Alam UMNO division head Datuk Azhari Shaari said as a Shah Alam City Council councillor, Ahmad Dusuki had indirectly admitted the weakness of the Selangor state government of which PAS had once been a member.

"When Selangor was under BN, issues such as massage parlours, gambling dens and such, never arose, but when the-then opposition coalition of PKR, PAS and DAP ran the government, these immoral premises increased in number in Shah Alam.

"I do not understand why he brings this up during election time, when he was part of the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) and PAS was a part of the state government for almost 10 years," he told reporters when met after a meet-the-people session with Bukit Jelutong residents here today.

A video recording of almost three minutes of Ahmad Dusuki's speech given at a talk in the city had recently gone viral where he claimed that development by the PKR-led Selangor government in Section 7 and Setia Alam had created more immoral premises in Shah Alam such as massage parlours and gambling dens.

Ahmad Dusuki who will be contesting against BN's Jumaeyah Masdi and PKR's Mohd Najwan Halimi in the 14th general election on May 9, also said there were many massage parlours in Section 25, Section 18 and several other areas in Shah Alam.

At the same time, Azhari who is candidate for the Shah Alam parliamentary seat, also said voters should look at PAS' and PKR'S willingness to do anything to get positions even if it meant they broke the trust given to them.

In GE14, Azhari will face a three-cornered fight against PAS candidate Dr Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki and the incumbent of the Parliamentary seat, Khalid Abdul Samad from Amanah. When he contested the seat in GE13, Khalid went on the PAS ticket.
