Special incentive for security guards if BN given mandate in Terengganu

KUALA TERENGGANU, April 29 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu Government will provide special incentives for security guards to increase their income, thereby helping to reduce the burden of the rising cost of living.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said the move was also aimed at improving the profession in the eyes of society which was rather sceptical and looked down on the job because the salary was small.

However, he said, the incentive would only be realised if the people of Terengganu continued to give a mandate to the Barisan Nasional (BN) government in the 14th General Election (GE14).

"This initiative by the state government is to increase their income... because they are categorised as middle-class...in this way, security jobs will no longer be looked down upon... (therefore) qualified people can also choose this field as their career when the special incentive is implemented," added Ahmad Razif.

He was speaking to reporters after officiating the briefing and dialogue session on the security industry as well as the implementation of a certified security guard programme with Home Ministry officials at Wisma Darul Iman here today.
