65,000 new posts approved to meet needs of government agencies 
KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) -- The government has approved 65,000 new posts in the public service this year in line with the evolution of National Transformation 2050 (TN50).
The Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa said the addition was made on the urgent requests of several departments which needed more staff in their organisations.
"These included the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Fire and Rescue Department, education as well as many other critical agencies which needed additional staff," he said after a KSN Message to Communications and Multimedia Ministry (KKMM) employees in Angkasapuri today.
He said the addition also refuted claims that the government was downsizing the civil service in the country.
In this regard, he said the government had developed two 1Malaysia Civil Servant Housing (PPA1M) projects in Miri and Kuching, Sarawak especially for KKMM staff and called on the civil servants in the ministry to grab the opportunity to apply for the houses.
Asked whether the government would be offering similar facilities in the peninsula, Ali said the government was prepared to develop PPA1M if KKMM could provide a suitable site.
In his message, Ali acknowledged the fact that the 1.6 million civil servants were the the pulse and inspiration of the civil service and determinant of the success of government policy implementation.
Therefore, he hoped all civil servants should continue to improve their services with excellence and trust to continue with TN50 agenda.
