PPBM members protest against Amanah candidate in Manong
KUALA KANGSAR, April 30 (Bernama) --The selection of Mohamad Isa Jaafar as the Amanah candidate for the Manong state seat in the 14th General Election (GE14) has been strongly objected to by Kuala Kangsar PPBM Division members.
Former Kuala Kangsar PPBM information chief Amir Hashim Yot described Mohamad Isa as a 'parachute' candidate, because the people, especially those in the Manong state constituency did not know him at all.
"For us hardcore voters, who are also one of the early members of PPBM, we feel very humiliated and dissatisfied with his (Mohamad Isa) candidacy because the residents, especially in Manong, do not recognise him," he told reporters at the Sayong Resort here today.
Amir Hashim said a discussion would be held at the grassroots level on the issue, including weighing the factor to help BN's campaign against the Amanah candidate as a sign of protest.
Mohamad Isa is set to contest Mohamad Zuraimi Razali of BN and PAS candidate Jamil Dzulkarnain for the seat.
