DAP often changes candidate in Teluk Intan
TELUK INTAN, April 30 (Bernama) --The action of the DAP which has changed the candidates for the Teluk Intan Parliamentary constituency 10 times in general elections (GE), shows that the party's intention is to win a seat and not to serve the people.
Gerakan president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong said the move did not indicate that the best leader would be entrusted to take care of the area.
"They (DAP) must change candidate each time no matter if they win or lose, they have never lasted," he told reporters after attending a Friendly Gathering of the Malaysian Government Pensioners Foundation at Taman Seri Setia here, today.
In GE14, Mah, the incumbent in the Teluk Intan Parliamentary constituency, would be opposed by PKR-DAP candidate Nga Kor Ming who moved from Taiping and PAS candidate Ahmad Ramadzan Ahmad Daud.
Mah said he never ran to a safe seat despite losing twice in general elections.
In the meantime, Mah said DAP also adopted an unhealthy campaign by resorting to a culture of gangsterism such as hurling harsh words against BN leaders when holding ceramah in Teluk Intan.
"GE is democratic and we must pick a candidate who can help the people and not a candidate who only knows how to slander people and create stories as these are not our culture.
"I hope the people in Teluk Intan can evaluate and make comparisons between the BN and opposition candidates in GE14," he said.
