Opposition spreading fake news in election campaign - Najib
KUALA LUMPUR, May 1 (Bernama) -- The opposition is spreading slanderous allegations and fake news just to win votes in the 14th General Election (GE14), said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
In his Twitter post today, the Prime Minister uploaded an example of a social media user posting which claimed that the Election Commission (EC) had set a new dress code on polling day on May 9.
"So, in this case, who's lying? If not sure don't share. Opposition is campaigning by spreading allegations and fake news to win votes! #TsunamiPHitnah," he said.
Yesterday, the EC had denied viral messages on social media that voters had to dress according to government office attire on polling day.
