Syamsul Debat shocked about audio recording

SEREMBAN, May 1 (Bernama) -- Motivational speaker Syamsul Amri Ismail or Syamsul Debat is shocked to know that his audio recording has been used to mar his reputation.

Syamsul, who is Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Sikamat state seat, said the audio recording was of his speech during the UMNO General Assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre in 2016.

"What puzzled me is that in the video that is viralled, there was no people, but there were sounds of people clapping and cheering.

"Perhaps, they have used the recording for other people , now they add in my voice. I am shocked because I never gave a talk without an audience," he told reporters after the groundbreaking ceremony for the Taman Sri Penaga surau in Sikamat near here today.

Also present were candidate for the Seremban parliamentary constituency Datuk Chong Sin Woon and candidate for Ampangan state seat Datuk Abu Ubaidah Redza.

Meanwhile, Chong said political parties and candidates should discuss the election manifesto during their campaign, instead of campaigning to bring down their political enemies.

In a separate development, Syamsul said a surau which could accommodate a 1,000-man congregation would be built in the constituency at a cost of RM300,000 and due to to be completed in two-and-a-half months.
