"Lock And Secure" Pro-BN voters - Shahrizat
MARAN, May 1 (Bernama) -- Wanita Barisan Nasional (BN) machinery should 'lock and secure' the pro-BN voters in their areas before the May 9 polling day so that the voters would not be 'stolen' by the opposition parties.
Its chief, Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said women voters, who made up the majority of voters in either state or parliamentary constituency, must be given attention so that their support for BN would not be swayed by the opposition's campaign.
"The red headscarf (of Wanita UMNO) is feared by the opposition and they know we hold the pro-BN voters who can ensure an outstanding victory for BN.
"That is why I want the Wanita machinery, especially of Wanita UMNO, to always be alert of the opposition's attempts to steal the pro-BN voters in their care through various means, including going from house to house," she said at a gathering with Wanita UMNO machinery in Felda Dahlia, Jengka 3 here today.
Also present was the BN candidate for Kuala Sentul state seat Datuk Seri Shahaniza Shamsuddin, who is also the incumbent.
Shahaniza, who is in a three-cornered fight with PAS and PKR candidates, is confident of winning the seat with more than 5,000-vote majority in the GE14 compared to 3,293-vote majority she garnered in GE13.
